Genealogy is Up!

Many years ago when I first bought minchin.ca, I thought it would be neat to put my genealogy online. This stemed, in part, from the fact that most of the genealogy research I was doing was online. But it’s taken a long time to figure out how to generate the webpages a way I wanted. I wanted a website that I could update without the links changing, and a way to hide the information about living people. Just this last week I found Adam, an online service hosted by Tim Forsythe, that will do that for me. So now my genealogy is up! Check it out at minchin.ca/genealogy/.

Minchin.ca Homepage Redesign

Homepage redesign is kind of a big deal; people get used to seeing a site look a certain way and a site design can completely change that look. I am in the middle of doing that. On one hand, I’ll be sad to see my header image from Hawai’i go, but like the simplicity of what is replacing it. All told, the design is something that I’ve been working on in spits and spurts for almost two years. Hover over the images in the middle of the page and it will tell you what they link to. My dot CA Story

I couple of days ago I got an email from the CIRA announcing their “Tell Us Your dot CA Story” contest. At first I brushed it off thinking “I have no chance of winning”, but I decided, on second thought, to write something because I wouldn’t mind a new computer, and I figured it would make a good post. Looking at it now, I think it’s probably good enough to end up on my “About Me” page on my site! My entry:
