A Kiss — Photo 77 — Project 365

We travelled to southern France with some friends and as we explored the coastline and abandoned buildings, they decided it was quite romantic! (It probably helped that this was a trip they took to celebrate their anniversary.)

London Temple — Photo 76 — Project 365

Located just south of London proper is the London Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From our base in France, we made a weekend trip here.

I loved how the slowly faded daylight came out as this beautiful blue.

Stained Glass — Photo 73 — Project 365

Catholic churches are everywhere in France. After seeing several dozen, I started to feel like I’d seen most of what there was to see. And then I would wander into some random church and discover another gem. In many of the churches, the stained glass was exquisite. Sometimes I could read the story in the windows and other times I just wondered who all the saints could be. This is a window I quite liked; I enjoyed how it depicted Jesus Christ, the “Lamb of God.”

Stone House on a Hill — Photo 71 — Project 365

Part of the image of Europe gets built around the old things, including the old stone homes from the days before 2x4 (lumber, wood-frame) construction. This home is at Mont Saint Michel, a rock on the Normandy coast that has had an abbey at the top of it for over 1000 years and a village built in stone under it for almost as long. As a side, Mt St Michel is one of my favourite places to visit in France.

Country Driveway — Photo 70 — Project 365

Still in the Land of the Celts (Brittany, France), I came across this beautiful country driveway. I think it caught my eye because even though there was no snow and the green leaves were gone, the scene was still beautiful.
