So it’s been two and a half weeks since I’ve had a steady internet connection. In an objective reality, that shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but in today’s fast-paced and always-on internet society, that timeframe seems to lie somewhere between an eternity and an epoch. I’ve been travelling (to Iceland and France) and so there’s been a lot to do and see, and so I haven’t felt a particular lack. I haven’t been travelling alone either, so I haven’t been lonely either.

The Provo Temple at night is beautiful when lit up at night, and even better from above. This was taken from Squaw Peak, just up Provo Canyon. This was also taken with my zoom lens - next time I’m taking my tripod to improve my odds of getting good night photos.

It’s amazing how much my telephoto lens lets me zoom in. The flip side is you have to hold VERY still to get good pictures because the zoom magnifies every little movement you make when holding the camera.

I don’t buy much ‘stuff’ and so I can get pretty excited about the stuff I do buy (school has a way of eating up all your money…). I’ve been toying with it for over a year and so I finally went out and bought a portable hard drive. Now I’ll be able to carry all of my photos with me on the go. Since I’m making up the rules, it can’t be cheating and I’m going to put up another photo. Perhaps it even works better when placed beside the mountains from earlier today. I love the colour in the flowers, especially against the quieter background. The flowers, with their bent and twisted petals, give a realism to the scene.
