Since I’m making up the rules, it can’t be cheating and I’m going to put up another photo. Perhaps it even works better when placed beside the mountains from earlier today. I love the colour in the flowers, especially against the quieter background. The flowers, with their bent and twisted petals, give a realism to the scene. Note to self: When you take your camera out to take pictures, make sure you have a memory card to store said pictures!

So this is actually my second try at taking photos today, and I wonder if I could have got something with my other lenses… But in any case, here I present to you the flowers! The shot is simple enough, but I like the effect of the muted background behind.

So tomorrow, I bring the lenses and the memory card…

Project 365 is an idea I’ve seen tossing around online various places and decided to give it a try. The basic premise is to take a picture every day for a year.  I started on July 9th and today is the 26th, so I have 10 photos in 18 days… hmmm. The morning light through the tree leaves and then the blinds makes some beautiful patterns. What surprised me was just how bright this light was, even filtered, and comparatively, how dark the inside of my apartment is. But I love the way the pattern turned out. :) 0 comments more ...

I wanted to try something a little out there, so I took this one of my clock radio through my glasses. Shooting without my glasses is a little suspenseful, because I can’t see what the picture really looks like (no preview) till it shows up on the camera screen! But I like this one. After everyone else goes to bed, the world remains interesting and alive. This is a small farming community, not far from home. I love how the lights from the village are set against the light still in the Western sky, coming over the mountains. 0 comments more ...
